.:Why I don't take requests:. by bleuberry109 .:Why I don't take requests:. by bleuberry109
This has come up recently but I haven't said anything, people actually get angry at me when I don't take requests :iconwthewwplz:

This basically sums up why I don't -3- :shakefish: I know I'm not all that and a bag of chips but it does take me a lot longer to do stuff for people because I use an ipad and it's very uncomfortable :/

now if I do somethin out of the good ess of my heart and people complain then I know not to do it anymore, it makes me sad when I can't do nice things for people and this isn't geared towards anyone

really it isn't, but it's to kinda understand where im comin from, I'm not mad at anyone right now, I just...I dunno XD it was an interestin thought

i just just threw it together XD don't judge

I can't call myself an artist, since I've only made two or three drawings (that are shit), but I see whatcha mean. That really does suck. Happens to me, only with me making someone a profile picture.

I hardly consider myself an artist these days but I understand how you feel.

I used to do comics at one point and my fanbase (of. like. twenty people. yeah. hardly a following) was pretty much nagging me for new ones, I eventually said fuck it and abandoned the series altogether feeling like I wasn't doing it for my own enjoyment.

This is the gospel truth (sorry I just watched Hercules) anywho people who ask for requests need to understand that they take time and outside of dA we have other things that happen

Agreed. I definitely understand how overwhelming it can be when people make requests. You're just one person / artists. And everything else is just a million upon millions of things that have to be handled one at a time . And it gets so overwhelming that you suddenly burn out due to tediously trying to churn out whatever pieces that have be requested to be made. . Some times they forget that we like to have a chance to go outside, or finish up projects of our own or have massive fun with out feeling overwhelming weight over how many requests that you try to do. And it's not like we have to do all of the requests because we can pick and choose, but because we want to do what no one did for us, especially some of the artists that we admire that kind of shun us, we try to be better and actually give time and thought to each project and request that's taken. I Definitely know the feeling. Not alone on that.

Very relate-able ... I've had all three happen to me :/
and people wonder why I don't do requests but they still ask from time to time even when it says on my page that I don't do requests.
Scenario 2 is quite mean for the artist to endure its not their fault the person who requests/ gift, I did a gift for one of my friends before and her first reaction was "The hair is the wrong colour!" .... I'd spend 4-5 hours on that picture and not even a thank you :L
As 3 , the artist who does that I ignore or just will not answer until I'm done and then have a little complaint about how many times they asked for the picture in the pictures description when its finally done :XD:

You get those people , They want you talent and time for Nothing - It is frustrating
